The 2026 World Cup is spread across 16 host cities in three countries: eleven in the United States, three in Mexico and two in Canada. With matches stretching from the Pacific coast to the Atlantic, it is the most geographically ambitious World Cup ever staged.
The host cities
In the United States the tournament visits New York/New Jersey, Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta, Miami, Boston, Philadelphia, Houston, Kansas City, Seattle and the San Francisco Bay Area. Canada hosts matches in Toronto and Vancouver, while Mexico stages games in Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey. The United States carries the bulk of the schedule with around 78 matches, while Mexico and Canada host 13 each.
Where the big games are
The tournament kicked off in Mexico City at the iconic Estadio Azteca. The two semi-finals are staged in Dallas and Atlanta, and the final will be played at the New York/New Jersey stadium on 19 July. Several venues have retractable roofs, which helps shield players and fans from the summer heat in the southern cities.
